Many illnesses and injuries can be safely evaluated in the comfort of your home by a board-certified Internal Medicine physician. Urgent care at home may be appropriate for patients who are too ill to travel, prefer to avoid crowded waiting rooms, or require personalized medical attention.

Respiratory & Infectious Illnesses

Fever, influenza, upper respiratory infections, pneumonia, COVID-19, urinary tract infections, and other acute infections.

Acute Symptoms & Injuries

Dehydration, abdominal symptoms, migraines, skin concerns, minor injuries, falls without major trauma, and other non-emergency concerns.

Chronic Condition Flare-Ups

Asthma or COPD exacerbations, worsening heart failure symptoms, and other changes in chronic medical conditions that may be appropriate for evaluation at home.

Yes. MedRedefined provides physician-led house calls for urgent, non-emergency medical needs. House calls are currently available across our Long Island service area, with expansion to Durham, NC and the surrounding Triangle coming soon. Your symptoms and medical history will be evaluated to determine whether care at home is appropriate.

What conditions can be treated during a physician house call?

House calls may be appropriate for illnesses and medical concerns such as fever, cough, influenza, urinary tract infections, dehydration, respiratory symptoms, skin infections, minor injuries, and flare-ups of chronic medical conditions. The appropriate level of care depends on your symptoms and medical history.

Can I receive IV fluids during an urgent care house call?

Yes, when medically appropriate. IV hydration may be provided at home following a physician evaluation. The physician will determine whether IV fluids or other treatments are appropriate based on your symptoms, medical history, and clinical needs.

When should I go to the emergency room instead of requesting a house call?

A physician house call is not a substitute for emergency medical care. If you are experiencing chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, uncontrolled bleeding, loss of consciousness, or another potentially life-threatening emergency, call 911 or seek emergency medical care immediately.
